Help Keep Banking Operations Running Smoothly

Bank of New England is seeking a detail-oriented and solutions-focused Business Systems Analyst to support our business systems and day-to-day banking operations.

This is an on-site role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of banking operations, technology, data, and process improvement. The Business Systems Analyst will develop deep knowledge of assigned banking applications, products, services, and workflows while serving as a key resource for system administration, reporting, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational support.

You’ll work closely with internal departments, IT teams, and external technology vendors to research and resolve issues, support system enhancements, participate in projects, and help improve the way our systems and processes work.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, curious, and comfortable taking ownership of assignments from initial research through resolution.

What You’ll Do

Business Systems & Daily Operations

• Respond to system-related questions and support requests by researching issues, providing context, and driving them toward resolution.
• Support core banking system administration, including access updates, batch-file changes, specification updates, lockouts, password resets, new employee access, and other assigned administrative responsibilities.
• Support online banking administration and bank products, including remote deposit capture, ACH and wire access, user permissions, limit changes, and related functions.
• Develop and maintain recurring and ad-hoc operational reports.
• Research system functionality, products, services, and business processes to provide accurate guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned applications and related workflows.
• Stay current on system enhancements, product releases, procedural changes, and new functionality.
• Troubleshoot system and operational issues and coordinate with IT, vendors, and internal teams through resolution.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through with limited supervision.

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Create, maintain, and update business and operational reports.
• Use reporting and data analysis tools to research business questions and identify relevant information.
• Support internal stakeholders with accurate and timely reporting.
• Analyze data and system information to help identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

Projects & System Enhancements

• Support system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and other Bank initiatives.
• Participate in requirements gathering, research, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
• Test and validate system functionality and configuration changes.
• Coordinate project activities and follow up with internal departments, IT, and vendor partners.
• Track project obstacles and open issues through resolution.
• Help communicate system, product, and process changes to affected stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Documentation

• Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve operational workflows.
• Develop and maintain accurate procedures, system documentation, and reference materials.
• Keep documentation current as systems, products, forms, and processes evolve.
• Help ensure employees have clear and accurate information to effectively use assigned systems and processes.

Compliance, Training & Audit Support

• Complete required Bank training and maintain knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audit and regulatory examination requests through accurate research, documentation, and timely submission.
• Participate in ongoing system, product, and departmental training.
• Follow the Bank’s information security, confidentiality, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Understanding of banking operations, online banking, and core banking systems.
• Experience supporting system access, configuration, operational processes, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Experience with reporting and data analysis tools such as Excel, Cognos, or similar platforms.
• Strong research and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments, IT teams, and external vendors.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow assignments through to completion.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to collaborate or escalate an issue.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Fiserv Premier or similar core banking platforms.
• Previous experience in banking, financial services, or a related operational environment.
• Experience supporting online banking products, ACH, wire services, remote deposit capture, or related banking technologies.
• Experience participating in system implementations, testing, upgrades, or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience creating operational reports using Excel, Cognos, or similar reporting tools.
